Cute little game and very well thought out in regards to the theme. One of my favorites so far from the C3Jam. I didn't finish the game but I played enough of the levels to feel like there was certainly going to be some fun puzzles.

The only things that annoyed me were:

#1: the level design in regards to collision, you have many corridors only a couple of pixels too narrow to fit two Gogos down at once. And in other places similar looking corridors were quite happy to fit two through at once, in a few cases in the former involved getting a Gogo stuck at the wrong time causing me to lose a level.

#2 The music was a bit minimalistic and on/off. Maybe that suits some people, but I'd rather have a toggle-able constant backing track. Still only a minor complaint and it's coming from someone experienced at making music. It has no real negative effect on the game.

Other than those points I consider it a great entry for the jam. Good luck :)

Interesting idea for a puzzle game.

The thing I wasn't very happy about was why loads of numbers decide to change from being 3 just as you are about to click on them, getting a penalty against you. If you could explain more how the logic of the game works rather than "just click 3" I'd be happier with the game.

Nice music and decent graphics and UI are present in this game.

I'd have rated this higher if I understood it better.

Hi, the number go from 1-2-3-4-5 and back from 5-4-3-2-1
Every loop take 2 secs.
If you touch on 3 before it change to other number, it will add to combo
else you will get penalty of the spawn of the number you click (1/ 2 / 4 / 5)

So, the game is just click on 3, nothing else.

Interesting ideas for an endless runner.
It's really hard though. I only noticed that you move further and further off screen over time, while digging, I just thought the game was bugging out.
Also the game feels too unforgiving, with the transition between digging and jumping I've no idea how to time some of the jumps. Some of the obstacles are plain mean and are just random guessing "will this hurt me underground/jumping" and the way you can't run while digging is plain annoying. Sometimes you're set up for certain death, where you have to dig under something and you're already at the edge of the screen.

harsamcreative responds:

the player increase speed, if you dont use the control, digging decreases speed. thanks for the review

Needs a lot of work.
Concept is really cool. Fits the theme well.
Graphics are usable (though they really remind me of stock game assets)
Audio is decent, apart from a huge problem I list below.
Small problem, there is no limit on fire rate, if I'm to spam my fingers across the three shoot controls I fire ridiculously fast.
Big problem: Have you noticed the cacophony the game makes when you die? It's horrifying. Fix your audio programming on that issue, or people will definitely not be kind with reviews. As a headphones user that was a quite traumatic experience.

Not a terrible concept at all. However I find the execution a bit shoddy. The music is nice, but the button I presume to toggle it simply restarts the track, and the music is so loud it distorts and clips through my headphones (turn that down please).

The graphics are quite nice.

However the gameplay is where it falls a bit flat, the characters move incredibly slowly (is this deliberate) which is annoying when you're trying to cross the screen to reach the next pickup.

Also I'm not 100% sure what causes you to lose, I've at times hit the opposite color with the wrong block, at times missed both pickups, at times collected one, and I'm just not sure what causes me to lose when it happens, because it seems completely irregular.

PixselStudios responds:

Thanks for your comment, I will make updates that will fix the bugs. Best Regard.

This is the sort of idea I imagined people might go with for the C3 Jam (I even started, and cancelled something similar myself.)
The graphics are quite nice, that's a plus.
The sound is nonexistant, both in audio FX and music, something this game sorely lacks.
The game-play is very simple in concept, however very difficult in practice. Games of this type aren't gonna last very long.
If this game had some audio (and maybe some more visual) feedback, I'd be inclined to rate it a little higher. However as it stands, where royalty free music is simple to find and using software like BFXR you can produce indie game quality sfx in minutes, it just seems weird not to have any audio in the game.

actually, im am working in two games for this jam, one is a homework that i didnt wanted to do, the other one is a proyect with a friend that im really excited about, so, yeah, this is not my best work

EDIT:http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/694041
here is the game, give it a look!

Found the game to be a pretty cool concept but really hard. I've spent a long time staring at the "Best Friend not Forever" level, failing it time after time, and even while going over the move limit, still not managing to find a way to get one of the circles to exit the level (Edit, managing it in 10 of 9 but I think that's the best I can do). Maybe I'm just really bad at puzzle games. Still, I feel this is one of the most interesting jam entries so far in the C3 jam. Best of luck :)

netcell responds:

Actually that stage can be solved in 4 :).

It's not about your intelligence, puzzle game is more about experience in similar games.
If you really like this one and need help in some stages, you can pm me :)

Have fun :)

I think this game looks brilliant, the art is done really well and I'd love to hear more of the music.
The problem I have with it is I simply find it too hard. As mentioned in another review, what is sorely missing is some kind of visual representation of the beat hitting. An alternative to that might be to lead into each track with a metronome on the beat where you're being shown the tempo before you're required to hit keys to the beat.
As it is I start straight into a beat playing usually losing all my lives within the first 3 seconds. And it's not like I don't understand music, while I'm not working on art or game development, I'm composing music in my home studio.
With either of those things implemented this game could be so much more enjoyable for me.
Still I think it was an extremely inventive idea for the jam. Best of luck in the C3Jam :)

My favorite thing about this game was the animation. It seems pretty well done even though it's a pretty simple style. Great job on that.

I found the gameplay a bit hard, and not for great reasons, maybe I'm incorrect but upon taking damage there appear to be no "Iframes" where you are invulnerable for a tiny period. What this means is that if you've 3 enemies coming at you grouped up at once and you only can hit 1, suddenly 2 hitpoints are taken and there's absolutely nothing you can do to stop it. Also there seems to be times where you attack an enemy and it does nothing except hurt you, often times repeatedly causing you to die within seconds. I wish I had made it to the boss because I was interested to see it but continuously dying to glitching common enemies put me off.

If those issues were worked on I think this game could gain more than 3 stars in review points from me.

Still, wishing you good luck in the C3Jam :)

nemezes responds:

As this is the C3Jam "Good Things Come in Threes" I added a cheat code. Hold Up Arrow (or W) and press Enter to start the game, then the life of the player will be multiplied by three (3x3=9). I hope with this, it will be possible to get to the boss.

Wow, this was really cool, the concept really impressed me as did the control scheme, one thing I would have liked is some warning as to which players are gonna switch to own goal players cause as it is you can just get terrible luck leading to almost definite goals against you. The only thing I didn't like was the music, it seems to glitch a bit, is it a very short loop? Still I think this was one of the most inventive entries to the jam though I don't quite get how 3 players trying to own goal is a "good thing". Good luck in the C3Jam :)

nowubeing2 responds:

Thx a lot. I'll make modifications in the future.
